Suzanne and Carolynn's April 2008 Visit to House of Hope

Prophetess Faith, Suzanne, Pastor Abdul, Carolynn,  and our beautiful House of Hope children
Carolynn and Suzanne were in Sierra Leone for two weeks. They were guest speakers for the third anniversary celebration of Living Word Christian Center. They worked closely with Pastor Abdul and Sister Faith on plans for development of the House of Hope property and ministry. Their greatest blessing was meeting and ministering to the children. They returned to the Quad Cities with a passion to help build a bright future for these precious children. What a joy and privilege!

What We Have Accomplished Since April, 2008

  • Moms for Hope held a baby clothes sale in May that netted over $1,500.
  • Through the Heart-to-Heart effort to recruit moms to donate $10, Moms for Hope raised an additional $1,500.
  • Food crops were planted in the two acres surrounding the house to improve nutrition and increase food security for the children.
  • Furniture was handcrafted by members of the church using lumber purchased with Moms for Hope donations.
  • We launched the Hand-in-Hand Child Sponsorship Plan to provide ongoing support for basic needs, educational expenses, medical expenses, and vocational training. More sponsors are needed.
  • Twelve children moved to House of Hope in October, 2008.
