THE OASIS
Your gift to The Oasis makes it possible
to give away free clothing, furniture and household goods.
We will be taking a truckload of winter clothing down to Joplin, MO on
November 2, 2011. Your cash gifts will help with the cost of the
truck and fuel. This will help keep families devastated by the
tornado warm this winter. Thank you for giving to the Lord.

There will be a prayer service at
7:00 pm each evening. We are using Isaiah 58:6-12 as our theme.
Emphasizing on this new wave of the Holy Spirit, global evangelism, The
Oasis, our future outreaches, and for the United States. Join in
with us as we seek God.
May 1 & 2 Faith Walk celebrated 25 years of
ministry. Pastors Scott & Tonya Culley came back to the Quad Cites and
started the Church in Ray & Nadine Culley’s, Pastor Scott’s parents,
living room. Rodney & Marge Snyder, Pastor Scott’s grandparents, were a
part of that first service. Since that time, God has added to the
Church with people, buildings and property. Today, Faith Walk has
mission’s outreaches at home and around the world.
If you are looking for a “Word” centered Church
that is filled with the Holy Spirit, then Faith Walk is the place for
you. Come and get what God wants for you.

Doug and Jeanne Moore
Pastors Doug and Jeanne Moore met in the fall of 1986 and were
married in July, 1989.
Doug
and Jeanne were in full-time ministry in a holiness denomination
when they were filled with the Holy Spirit, finally making their
strong Bible background complete. Since that time, they have
continued in their love for the Word of God and allowed the Holy
Spirit to guide them. After attending Winter Bible Seminar and Camp
Meeting at Kenneth Hagin Ministries in 1997, Doug and Jeanne began
to sense that God was preparing them for a new phase in ministry.
They listened as Brother Hagin called for “Messengers of Light” who
would live in the Word without compromise. Taking up the challenge,
they left the denomination they had been a part of since childhood
and stepped out in faith to start Harvest Christian Family Church,
now called Living Word Worship Center.
Pastor Doug has a BA from Lael University and is a graduate of Oral
Roberts University Graduate School. Pastors Doug and Jeanne are both
ordained by the Association of Faith Churches & Ministries and are
accountable to AFCM. They have proven themselves to be dedicated to
God’s service in integrity and faithfulness. They have always made
themselves readily available to the people.
Doug
and Jeanne have 4 boys Adam (20), Andrew (18), Matthew (11), &
Jonathan (4). Visit their web-site at ...

Pastor Scott Culley with Vicki Tyler
For the month of January, Faith Walk gathered baby items:
diapers, baby wipes, blankets, formula, & clothing to give to a local
ministry, The Women's Choice Center. Located right across the
street from Planned Parenthood's abortion clinic in Bettendorf, Iowa,
our very own Vicki Tyler is the director of The Women's Choice Center.
The Center counsels women who need direction with their decision of
their unborn child. Each year women who decide to keep their child
are given assistance and guidance by The Women's Choice Center.
These items which were donated and so welcomed by the Center make it
possible to assist these new Moms.

Deborah & Larry McClarey
How we
met:
Larry and I met in a bar. He was a 28 year old alcoholic doing his
regular thing. I was celebrating my 19th Birthday. My roommate
knew him and told me his name. I will never forget her words
because they changed the direction of my life. She said, "All Larry
needs is a good wife." I thought, "that's me, I can do that." We
were married in 2 months. I thought he needed me to fix him.
Needless to say, I was in for a sad awakening. The next five years
were a "living hell". We had 2 beautiful daughters but we fought
like a cat and a dog.
Salvation/ Baptism in Holy Spirit: I had
been saved when I was around 12 in the denominational church I was
raised in. However, at this time I was backslid and I knew nothing
about the power of God to work in and change our lives. After 5
years Larry hit his "bottom" and began to look for help. We began
to attend AA and Alanon. As I began to look honestly at my own life
I realized that Larry was not the only one with a problem. I began
to apply the 12 Steps of Alanon. When I hit Step 3: "Made a decision
to turn my will and my life over to the care of God as I understood
him", I realized that I did not have to figure out God I just had to
trust him enough to turn my life over to him. I DID and returned to
my "first love"! In April of 1975 Larry found sobriety. I began
to go to church, got into the Word of God and in 1976 was baptized
in the Holy Spirit. Our lives changed radically! Larry was not
born again and did not want to go to church so I took my 2 little
girls and went every time the doors were open. I began to teach the
Word in Sunday School and Bible Studies and I was a leader in our
local Women's Aglow. I stayed in my denominational church for a few
years then began to attend a Full Gospel Church.
My
Call To Pastor and Background of the Church: In 1983
the Holy Spirit began to talk to me about the Pastor's calling. I
had always functioned in the Helps ministry so I could see myself
in an associate pastor position. I was instructed by the Spirit to
go and talk to my pastor about this call. I was so timid that it
took me 3 months to obey. It was probably the most miserable 3
months I had ever had. Finally, I made an appointment and talked to
my pastor, expecting him not to take me seriously. Praise God, he
was very gracious. I know now that the Lord was confirming my call
in my pastor's heart. My pastor suggested that I begin to prepare.
I attended the satellite Bible School we had in our church for the
next 2 yearsand
built a foundation on "The Rock" that has never failed to sustain
me. Nine years later in 1992 I helped this same pastor pioneer
Antioch Faith Outreach Church here in Paris. That same year Larry
was born again and joined in starting the new church. Our vision
was to establish a Full Gospel (Faith) Church with a heart to reach
the lost of Paris. Our first service was in a park. We quickly
purchased 9 acres of property in the heart of Paris. We met in
an old house on the property for a couple of years, then began to
build the building we are in now. We recently added a
fellowship hall and are still working on the finishing touches in
it.
In 1997 the
Lord spoke to my pastor and his wife to go to Tulsa to attend Rhema.
At the same time the Lord told me that I would be the associate
pastor and help them as they did this. That same year I attended my
first AFCM meeting during the Winter Bible Seminar in Tulsa. My
pastor was a member and had told me that this would be a good place
for me. I was amazed the first meeting that there were so many
things that my family and ministry had in common with AFCM and its
leadership. I applied for membership as soon as I could. I was
licensed in 1997 and then ordained in January 1999. My pastors went
to Tulsa in June 1997 and I began to serve AFOC as associate
pastor. Our pastors came home once a month and still lead the
church and I taught, preached and lead worship when they were
gone. God had given us some great elders that took care of the
finances and prayed much. They are still part of the church. In
1999 our pastors sensed the call of God to stay in Tulsa and on
September 5th, 1999 I was installed as "temporary pastor". There
was some question about a woman pastoring. I knew I was not
temporary. God had begun to speak to my heart early in the year
that he was moving me into that position. I just had to be patient
and humble and let HIM do it.
I celebrated
my 10th anniversary as pastor of AFOC this past September. Our
vision is still the same - "reach the lost of Paris". I believe
part of this will be in reaching out to those with addictions and
their families. We began a ministry to do this last year,
however, it has not been as successful as I know it will be in the
future.
What AFCM
means to me: Family, Foundation, Fellowship, Leadership
I am grateful for leaders who hear the voice of God
and are bold enough to speak what they hear. I am grateful for the
teaching we receive from them. I appreciate maturity that can be
trusted. I am thankful for the Regional Directors we have.
Thankful for their love, care, prayer, wise counsel and servant
hearts. Most of all I am thankful to my Heavenly Father who has
given me Fathers and Mothers in the faith to follow as they follow
Christ.
My birthday
is July 10, 1950. Our anniversary is September 20, 1969. We
celebrated 40 years of marriage this year!
Both our
daughters and their families are part of the church. Our oldest
daughter Jenny is our Children's Minister, an elder and part of the
worship team. Our youngest daughter Rae Anne is a deacon and part
of the worship team. Her husband W. D. is our sound man. My oldest
grandaughter is our media person. We have 6 grandchildren. Olyvia
(15), Ryan (14), Kelsey (12), Grace (almost 12), Kloey (9) and Faith
(11 months). We love going to all their activities and sports
things and being grandparents.
Jerry & Jeanette Manning
How they met:
Jerry & Jeanette were each born and raised in western
Kentucky where they grew up on farms. They met each other in high
school and began dating at age sixteen. They graduated from St.
Vincent Academy in 1952 and were married in July 1953. Both were
involved in teaching religion classes to children & teenagers in the
Catholic Church.
Their Call and Background: Jerry’s work experience took him
from factory work in Evansville, Indiana to working at the B&H Snack
Bar in Morganfield, Kentucky or one year to driving a fuel oil
truck. Jerry then accepted a job with a finance company, as a loan
manager for ten years. He was employed by a local bank in
Morganfield, KY for twenty-five years.
Jeannette worked part-time for four years as a
Welcome Wagon Hostess to newcomers moving in the Morganfield and
Union County. Next, she managed the Paper Doll, a Hallmark Greeting
Cards and Merle Norman cosmetics shop for ten years.
In the early 1970’s, Jeanette began meeting with
ladies to pray for family and church needs in the area. Many people
were born again and began studying the Bible. In 1973, Jerry and
Jeanette opened their home in Morganfield, KY for weekly prayer
meetings as a result of an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the
area. In 1983, they established Household of Faith Church in
Morganfield, which they served as pastors for 8 years. Hundreds of
children were born again and filled with the Holy Spirit at the
annual summer Vacation Bible School at the church.
From 1992-2010, they have traveled to churches,
ministering in churches in 35 states of the USA, 5 provinces of
Canada, in Russia, England, Holland, Haiti, and Mexico. Jerry
conducted weekend seminars on “Godly Financial Wisdom” teaching on
practical biblical finances. He preached at the Sunday morning
worship services and both Jerry and Jeanette ministered personally
to individuals at the altar in prayer and the laying on of hands,
imparting spiritual gifts of wisdom and knowledge.
Both Jerry and Jeanette have been ordained by the
Mid-American Ministries, Springfield, MO and Association of Faith
Churches & Ministers. Jerry also has been ordained by Andersonville
Baptist Bible College, Andersonville, GA. Jeanette was ordained by
Sheep Shed Bible Institute, Corydon, KY.
Current Ministry:
Jerry & Jeanette are active in ministry at New
Covenant Church, Corydon, KY. Jerry teaches the adult Sunday School
class on Sunday mornings and Jeanette is active in a ladies weekly
prayer group at the church. They have 6 children, 14 grandchildren
and 7 great-grandchildren.
Our Christmas card is a little different this year.
Our family picture was taken at my folk's, Ray & Nadine Culley, 50th
anniversary celebration. The whole family rented a cabin and spent
a fun filled weekend together.
Our "baby picture" is of Megan, now 18, who will graduate
high school this spring and our third grandbaby, Isabelle Joy Hoffman,
born on May 12 of this year. Belle is the third child of Pastors
CJ & Rachel. Megan has be accepted at Oral Roberts University in
Tulsa, OK where she will get her music education degree.

L.I.F.E. Youth News
The trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma was a success in many ways. We all had
a great time together. The trip was long but worth it. We spent 11 hrs
in the van on the way down and again on the way back with very few stops
(I'm proud of my youth for that). When we got there we stopped at Desi
and Elvis Wright's house where we stayed the night and for which we are
very thankful. We then went to
Nightmare.
We waited in line for 3 hrs and had about another 45 min to an hour left
to wait when Elvis (head of security) moved us ahead of the line. When
we made it through nightmare, we had 5 youth that rededicated themselves
to the Lord. We were all shown the reality of heaven and hell. We now
feel the urgency there is to getting our friends saved today because
tomorrow may be too late.
Thank you to everyone that made sure this trip happened for all of our
youth. It was truly a LIFE CHANGING EVENT!

Anniversary Celebration
Pastor Scott Culley, Easter Worship at Faith
Walk
On May 4 we
celebrated twenty-three years of ministry. Our vision has remained the
same based on 2 Corinthians 5:7, teaching people to walk by faith doing
the Word of God and living by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The festivities for that day included dedicating the
Muriel House and later having an all church Pot Blessing
Dinner. The Talent Show that followed
the meal was a wonderful success. We laughed so hard at some
things are sides were splitting.
Welcome Dr. Jim and Kathleen Kaseman and AFCM Region 3 Members
Dr. Jim Kaseman, President and Founder
of the Association of Faith
Churches and Ministers, and Rev. Kathleen Kaseman were our special guests
April 5 - 8.
Members of AFCM Region 3, which includes pastors from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky,
Tennessee, joined us for the AFCM Region 3 Pastor's Conference with Dr. Kaseman,
Kathleen Kaseman and Host Pastor Scott Culley ministering. Pastors Scott and Tonya Culley

Happy
New Year from Pastors Scott and Tonya Culley and Family
In October the Holy Spirit told us that "The Glory of God will be
Great in 2008." We are expecting a wonderful move of God this year. When
the glory of god is present there are manifestations of the Spirit. What
could be more glorious than the possibility that Jesus could come back
this year. Join with us in expecting the unexpected. Join with us in
helping to reach this community and world for Jesus Christ.
Remember, we've added a new Saturday night service at 5:00 p.m. for
those of you who can't make it on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. Our mid-week
service will give you that encouragement and lift as you walk by faith
and not by sight. Make Faith Walk your home in 2008.
We are planning a Week of Prayer and Fasting January 13 - 18. Ask God
what you should fast and then discipline your flesh so you can hear the
voice of god better than ever. We are thanking God for a spirit of
revival that is present at each service.
Thank you for your love and support as we teach people to live by
faith and be victorious in every area of life.

Pastors Jimmy and Sandy Long
Faith Walk gathered on May 4, 2008 at 1502 18th Avenue Court, Silvis, IL
to dedicate the house of long time member Muriel Fick. She joined
the Church in 1986. She served as a Sunday School teacher for 20
years at Faith Walk. Muriel went home to be with the Lord on
October 16, 2007. As a part of her legacy, this house will be
housing for our ministry staff members, Pastors Jimmy and Sandy Long.
Muriel is greatly missed.
Congregation Prays over Muriel House #2
Suzanne Pitz and Carolynn Bjurstrom
returned from Freetown, Sierra Leone, West Africa. They worked
with our partners Pastors Faith and Abdul Conteh at
Living
Word Christian Center, which operates an extension of
Faith Bible School. Suzanne
was the guest speaker for the church's third anniversary
celebration. Carolynn and Suzanne assisted with planning for
the House of Hope ministry to children orphaned
by the recent civil war.
What a blessing I had to
be in Poland for a week. God brought a supernatural connection
with Pastor Mirek Kulec in Chelm, Poland. I was able to speak to
leaders in the church as well as share the Gospel and see people get
saved and Baptized in the Holy Spirit. Everyone made me feel so
welcome.
I knew of the strong work
ethic that is lived out by Polish immigrants that are here in the United
States. The people have a rich history and have survived many
things. In recent history, Poland was attacked by Hitler and the
Nazis and then occupied by the Soviet Union. Since Communism fell, the
country has been growing in freedom. Poland is in a place in history
that they have a new generation that has not had to live under
communism, but has not had a major move of God in the nation. I
found a wonderful group of people that are praying for revival for
Poland and the world.
The people were so
spiritually hungry that it was easy for the move of God to happen in the
meetings. I believe that we will continue to see good reports
coming out of Poland in the days ahead of us. I had to use Pastor
Mirek to do the translating. There were a few people that spoke
English very well, but even though we were not able to communicate
without Pastor Mirek's help, I knew and sensed the love of God in these
people.
I look forward to going
back and to continue the work that God has for us in Poland. I
believe the faith message will empower people as they live by the word
of God. It changed my life and I know the word that I spoke in
Poland is working in the lives of the Polish people.
A side note, let me tell
you those Polish ladies know how to cook a great meal. When you
say you are full, they are all like your grandmothers and put more on
your plate. Thank God for the move of His Holy Spirit in Poland.
The theme for our five week outreach is, "Be a
Missionary in your own back yard." Many people
think about Missions in foreign lands, but the
United States is also our Missions field. The
Quad-Cities is the local field that we are to
establish the Gospel.
Our kick off weekend was February 23 & 24, 2008.
If you don't have a Church home please come out to
one of our services and enjoy the presence of the
Lord. We meet Saturday at 5PM, Sunday at 10AM
and Wednesday at 7PM. If you need more
information please call 792-3922. Be a
Missionary every day.
We are believing for 100 people for Jesus this
Easter.
Randy
Mitchell with a One World Missions team in Zambia,
Africa
Randy Mitchell, his wife Jessica, and members of
their staff ministered to our LIFE Youth ministry
and in our worship services on January 26 and 27.
Randy is
the director of missions for
AFCM’s
One World Missions (OWM).
Through
OWM, Randy develops short-term outreaches, provides
missionary training, mobilizes the church and
implements long-range strategy for reaching the
world.
Randy urged us to catch the Father's heart for
the nations, the multitude of people groups, of the
earth. He is raising up people in every nation to
fulfill the Great Commission, and the role of
American churches is shifting to one of coach and
mentor. God accomplishes His plan and purpose
through His people. He shows us what He is is doing
and then asks us to adjust our lives to His plan.
This often produces a "crisis of belief," but
when
we obey, we can experience the sense of "astounding
significance" from knowing we are on a mission with
God.
Be sure to visit the
One
World Missions website. It is loaded with
missions resources to help you get in touch with the
Father's heart for the nations.
Missionary Konnie Zude returned to
Lilongwe, Malawi with her daughter Caroline on January 17 after a
much-deserved break. Konnie came home to celebrate Christmas with
her family and update her supporters on her ministry in Malawi. Konnie
teaches kindergarten at the
African Bible
College Academy. Her multi-national class is interesting, and she
loves teaching children, but she knows that her primary calling is to
make faith teaching available in Chichewa language. Her heart is to
begin reaching out to villages, especially the village where Caroline
was born. Konnie is heading the Chichewa translation project in
conjunction with Gospel Harvest Church and Pastor
Stephen Banda's churches in Malawi. In her message on Sunday,
January 6, she answered the three questions people ask most often: 1.
What are you actually doing there? 2. When are you coming home? and 3.
How is Caroline's adoption going? Listen now.
Congratulation, Vision Ministry, on your excellent performance of
"Mayhem in Bethlehem." Led by Pastor Sandy Long, the puppet and drama
team began practicing in August for this forty-two minute program.
Puppeteers, ranging in age from 7 to over 60, practiced one hour per
week. The show premiered at the Quad Cities Festival of Trees at River
Center in
November and finished its run at the Faith Walk
Christmas program on December 2.
The choreography taking place behind the set is incredible: 18
puppeteers manipulating 29 costumed puppets with 24 different props at
exactly the right time and position for 42 minutes in the dark in
limited space. WOW! Thanks for your dedication and heart for ministry
Pastor Sandy and the Vision Ministry puppeteers. Great job! Encore?
They're already busy working on their Easter production.

We thank God for our new partners in Freetown,
Sierra Leone.
Living
Word Christian Center, led by Pastors Abdul and Faith Conteh, have
started an AFCMITC video Bible School as an extension of our Faith Bible
School. Living Word Christian Center has a vision to reach this eighty
percent Muslim nation with the gospel of Jesus Christ, and we are
privileged to be called by God to assist them.
Our beloved Muriel Fick went to heaven
on October 16, 2007. Muriel had been a sunday School teacher at Faith
Walk for twenty years. Muriel had a great love for the ministry and had
been used by God in so many ways help carry out the vision of Faith
Walk. Back in 2001, she came to the Pastors and told them that the Lord
had instructed her to buy the house and property east of Faith Walk and
donate it to the Church. The Lord had told her to do it now so she could
enjoy seeing it completed in her lifetimme. The Muriel House has been a
wonderful blessing to the body of Christ. Muriel also left her residence
to the Church. It will be an additional parsonage for Faith Walk. It
will be called the the Muriel House #2. Muriel understood the meaning of
stewardship, and her gift will e a blessing for future generations at
Faith Walk and the world.

your friends know about this new Worship Experience at Faith Walk.
We will still offer our Sunday 10:00 A.M. Service as well as our
Wednesday 7:00 P.M. Service.
Heather Culley is spending six months ministering
in Lilongwe, Malawi. She is assisting missionary Konnie Zude with
Faith Walk's outreach in Malawi. Heather is taking a semester off from
her college studies to fulfill this calling. This is her second
mission to Malawi.
Heather worked hard on a variety of fundraising activities. The
whole Culley family pitched in to make breakfast with Heather on May 5 a
huge success.

Just in time for Faith Walk's 22nd anniversary
celebration, our building received a "facelift". The entry foyer,
main lobby and rest rooms have taken on a wonderful new look. Pastor Jeff Rath
and his crew of
volunteers are putting the finishing touches on the new lighting, flooring, restroom fixtures,
and color scheme. Thank you, Pastor Jeff and all your helpers, for your
great work and loving service!
Pastor Stephen Banda from Lilongwe,
Malawi, "the warm heart of Africa," ministered at Faith Walk on November
25. Pastor Banda leads over 200 churches in Malawi that are part of the
Apostolic Church of Pentecost, and he is a member of the Association of
Faith Churches and Ministers (AFCM). His faith-filled message answered
the question, "Why did Jesus come to the world?'
Pastor Banda ministered to the LIFE
Youth Group and met with the Chichewa Team, which is working to produce
a Chichewa translation of Faith Bible School. We are thankful to have
Pastor Stephen Banda as our partner in the translation work and in God's
plan for Malawi.
Heather Culley is home
after six months in Malawi, Africa. We are so excited to hear about what
the Lord has done in her life.
In Memorial: Dr. Charles L. Hollis
(October, 2007)
Dr. Charles L. Hollis, Pastor of the
Moline Gospel Temple, went home to be with the Lord on October 29, 2007.
Brother Hollis was the Pastor of the Temple for 50 years. He was a
pioneer in Sunday School bus ministry and had a successful television
ministry for 20 years. He inspired countless thousands of people and
sent many men and women into the ministry. Pastor Scott and Tonya met
and were married at the Gospel Temple. Both were under the ministry of
Dr. Hollis before going away to Bible College. After Dr. Hollis'
retirement he came and spoke at Faith Walk, and the Church hosted an
appreciation breakfast for him. Faith Walk was honored to give Dr. and
Mrs. Hollis ministerial credentials after their retirement from the
Temple. Dr. Hollis was truly a General for the body of Christ.
On Sunday July 29th Cynthia Patterson received a free
make over from Faith Walk. Cynthia works at Ducky's Formal Wear.
She works 6 days a week making it possible for people's special events
to happen.
Pastor Tonya took Cynthia shopping and by Sunday when
Pastor Scott started preaching about God's Extreme Makeovers Cynthia
was presented to the congregation. She looks beautiful.
Cynthia and her family are active members of Faith Walk.
On Jan. 10 we started the Full Flame film series
produced by
Reinhard Bonnke. The goal of this series is to look
beyond strategies and techniques and to create the same
urgency and compassion that Jesus had to reach the lost.
The series will last eight weeks with a discussion
following each of the videos.
Week of Fasting
Jan. 5 - 10, 2007
Matt. 6:16 says, "When you fast,"--not if you fast. Every major Bible
character fasted. Fasting is a way for us to control our flesh and
remind it that we are spirit beings who are not controlled by the flesh,
but led by the Spirit.
We ask every member of Faith Walk to follow the Lord in a time of
fasting and prayer during these five days. We are praying for a spirit
of revival to overtake our church and personal lives. Please pray for
the pastors and staff of Faith Walk as well as for people to get saved.
Faith Walk kicked off its Harvest Festival month with the
ministry of evangelist Guy Johnston from Branson, Missouri. Guy urged us
to:
1. Stay on purpose and on task because the harvest is all
around us, and most of the harvest does not happen in the church.
2. Target our efforts where the people are and funnel money into the
harvest.
3. Use the breakthrough weapons God has already given us offensively and
become more skilled and purposeful in using our words for a
breakthrough.
4. Cooperate with the Holy Spirit because breakthroughs happen when, and
only when, we do.
Have you been
flamingo-ed yet? If you wake up and discover these colorful creatures in
your yard, call the flamingo-control officer at 792-3922 and pay $5 to
have them removed. For $10, you can purchase flamingo insurance to keep
them from returning. Flamingo control is a project of the
L.I.F.E. Youth Group.
Jamie Joy Long made her second trip to Lilongwe, Malawi in late June.
The purpose the Lord spoke to her heart was “to bless Konnie.” With the
support of her husband Kevan and two young children, she obeyed this
calling and earned the money she needed by doing extra jobs, holding
yard sales, and selling candles. She prepared herself for ministry and
made the long trip alone. Konnie reported that Jamie Joy’s visit came at
just the time she needed it.
Jamie’s passion is working with youth, and she was able to spend two
full Saturdays working with youth and doing drama programs in schools.
Youth ministry is vital because 60% of Malawi’s population is age 20 or
younger.
An added benefit of the mission was that Jamie delivered computer
equipment for the Chichewa Bible School project. She trained Pastor
Eliam and Florida, who had never used a computer, to record Bible School
lessons in Chichewa language. Jamie Joy is a Faith Bible School student.

"We will never be the same
again!" "We are moving up!" "We have changed!" These are the
declarations being heard at Gospel Harvest Churches throughout Malawi.
Pastor Sandy, Children's
Pastor at Faith Walk, spent 13 days with me in Malawi. As she taught the
Word, trained Sunday School teachers, encouraged pastors, and even
brought a little correction, the Holy Spirit was moving sweetly and
powerfully in our hearts. Read the full report in
Konnie's October newsletter.
"We're proud of you!" Kevan
Long has been admitted for the Fall semester to The University of Iowa
Medical School where he will take the next step toward fulfilling his
calling to be a medical doctor. Kevan is worship team drummer and
assists with the Extreme Youth Group. He is the son of Pastors Jimmy and
Sandy Long, husband of Jamie, and father of Elizabeth and James.
Fourteen students have been admitted to the
Faith Bible School class of 2005 - 2006. At the Orientation session
August 15, they discussed the commitment they are making for the next
eighteen months and some of their dreams and callings. They will attend
six hours of class per week in addition to readings and written
assignments. Plan to celebrate with them when they graduate in January,
2007. You can expect a lot from these people--ask them what they are
learning.
Faith Walk World Relief is filling a semi trailer with
supplies for Hurricane Katrina victims on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Donations of bottled water, nonperishable food, personal items, and cash
are being accepted. Generous support for this effort has been provided
by area businesses, Roadway Express Inc, and the
Association of Faith Churches and Ministers. The truck is scheduled
to leave for Mississippi on September 27.
Youth in Nsaru, Malawi now have a "real"
football!
They had been using a ball made from plastic bags.
If you are a young man living in Malawi, then you are also
a huge football (aka soccer) fan. Every week 12 - 18 boys from Nsaru and
neighboring villages come together for a lively footballl match. But
before the game begins, the member of Gospel Harvest take time to study
God's Word and to pray. The hearts and lives of these future leaders of
Nsaru are being encouraged and changed as they experience God's love
displayed through a church that is recognizing their value and investing
in them. More importantly, adults--mostly women--are learning to read.
Our beloved Marge "Dee Doe"
Snyder moved to heaven Wednesday evening (Sept. 21, 2005) surrounded by
her family. Dee Doe was a founding member of FWWOC. She is grandmother
of Pastor Scott Culley. Visitation and funeral were at the church.

Eight members of
the Exchange Youth Group left July 9 with Pastors Jimmy and Sandy for
ministry in Sarnia, Canada. They will be ministering with Pastors
Matthew and Jessica Bennett. Remember to pray for the power of God to be
released throughout Canada. The mission team will return Thursday, July
14.
